"THOSE WHO KNOW DO.
THOSE WHO UNDERSTAND, TEACH"
Sabrina Duncan has trained horses and riders with a careful approach and goal oriented program since 2003. Her love of horses, and ability to connect with them has been a life long journey,
After her first lesson at age 6, it was apparent she found her passion. Sabrina rode at San Domenico Stables in Marin County, California, Her first horse was a quarter pony named Sunny. Together they adventured with the local Pony Club to local hunter shows as well as Fox Hunting with the Los Altos Hunt Club (A Drag hunt, no fox is used or hunted!) After moving with her family to the San Juan Islands, she starting riding western , and competed with both her horses in 4H: one in all around, and one in gymkhana. In high school she also participated in Polocrosse, Drill Team, and Driving Draft Horses.
Following graduation from the 4-year program in Equestrian Science at Colorado State University, Sabrina established Sunnyluck Performance Horses, a training and breeding facility in Fort Collins Colorado. The breeding program was small, producing 2-4 quality reining prospects annually. Her training program focused on starting colts, tuning up ranch horses, and introducing riders to the world of reining, and NRHA shows. She also developed a series of clinics: I. Training for the Green Horse II. Proper Collection and III.Intro to Reining, which were a local success and often sold out.
In 2013, Sabrina moved Sunnyluck Performance Horses back to her home state, where she continued training and added a lesson program.
In February 2018, Sabrina's indoor arena collapsed during a heavy snow storm. Nobody was injured, however the entire facility was compromised. and what remained had to be torn down. Instead of rebuilding, Sunnyluck Performance Horses moved to Gig Harbor, as the training portion of North Horse Equestrian Center. The facility is amazing, and provides opportunity for growth in the future.
Sabrina's passion for helping equestrians has reached numerous disciplines , by coaching riders to evolve their horsemanship through understanding their horse better. Through educating others on training methods, equine behavior, and bio-mechanics, she helps each partnerships reach their full potential.
